TYs participate in Public Access to Law

On Thursday, the seventh of January, the whole Transition Year group took part in an annual Law Day. For this, a highly qualified Barrister from Mayo came to our school for the day. First of all we went through all of the basic law theory that the group found was actually essential to know regardless of whether there was an interest to pursue law as a career from each individual. A lot of us were delighted to partake in this the day we returned from the holidays as it was a nice way to break back into school life. In the afternoon the whole year group performed a ‘ mock trial ‘ to do with an illegal air rage incident. Everyone played a role in ‘court’ and the whole year group ended up really enjoying this as it was an opportunity to experience law beyond textbooks. It was a great activity for everyone within the year group.
