Transition Year Self Defence

At the end of December, prior to the Christmas holidays and as part of the Transition Year PE programme, self defence classes were introduced. Some students were more happy about this than others as it required great acts of aggression but by the end of the first class all students realised the physical importance of self defence and all of the benefits that come with it. The group was taught by a qualified martial arts instructor, Mr. Daniel Dillon. After Christmas the classes continued on the eleventh of January. Self Defence is a great way to increase fitness levels and also to learn a bare necessity and essential life skill that will be of value to all Transition Year students for the rest of their lives.
