SECOND YEAR AT THE TOP FOR SCOIL MHUIRE

Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon is the top school in Clare for the second year running according to the The Sunday Times ‘definitive guide to Ireland’s top 400 schools’ published recently. The guide lists the top 400 Secondary Schools in Ireland ranked by the average proportion of pupils gaining places in one of the country’s nine Universities, main Teacher Training Colleges, Royal College of Surgeons, two Northern Ireland Universities and the National College of Art and Design. Laurel Hill in Limerick topped the survey for the third consecutive year. Scoil Mhuire, Ennistymon moved up the rankings yet again this year by 4 places and now sits at number 34 out of the 400 schools. The next Clare school on the list is Coláiste Mhuire, Ennis at number 76. Scoil Mhuire ranks as 7th best school in Munster and sits in 15th place in the top Girl’s Schools in the country. This is an outstanding achievement for the school considering 9 of the girls schools in Ireland ranking higher than Scoil Mhuire are fee paying schools.
