Cross Country Running.

On the twelfth of November 2015, a group of girls from various year groups throughout the school attended the annual Clare Cross Country Running which takes place in Lee’s Road. There was a strong group attending this year with a lot of new first year runners participating in the minor category. Orla Vaughan ran an impressive race placing seventh in this category even though it’s only her first year. In the next category we had many second year representatives running with great team ethic throughout. Hannah Shannon had a very strong performance in this category. Next was the intermediate girls who didn’t disappoint again with two top ten finishes from Caoimhe Hogan and Maria Fitzgerald with the majority of the remainder of the intermediate team finishing strongly. In the senior category, Scoil Mhuire was represented by Jane Murphy and Sinead Hogan who performed fantastically even through hail stones! It was a great day overall despite the horrific weather and a reminder of how great it is to actively participate in sport.
