CHRISTMAS CAROL RECITAL
If you’re looking for a way to get yourself in the festive spirit and feel like recapturing some of the magic and wonder of the season take a trip to Ennistymon on Sunday December 1 at 8pm and enjoy the glittering event of the Scoil Mhuire Christmas Carol Recital in St. Michael’s Church Ennistymon. Ms Patricia Dooley will be comandeering the Scoil Mhuire Choir, joined by many guests in this exquisite Church, famed for its impressive acoustics. This well loved event is a time to gather with your nearest and dearest and sing along to classic Christmas carols while enjoying performances from the mesmerising Scoil Mhuire Choir. Join in with toe-tapping tunes and sing along to seasonal songs including ‘Carol of the Bells’, ‘Ave Maria’, ‘Silent Night Christmas 1915’, ‘Christmas Pipes’ ‘Winter Song’ and the sublime ‘O Holy Night’. Classic yuletide anthems always seem to find that impossible balance between timelessness and nostalgia, tapping into a sort of greater, collective memory of a warm and fuzzy feeling. These pristine, unmistakable, permanently enjoyable classics allow you to feel the spirit of Christmas all over again. Joined by singers and instrumentalists from the local community, this concert will be a visual and musical delight to celebrate both the joy and peace of Christmas.
Guest performers include Katie O’Donohue, Amy Conneely, Caroline Kennedy O’Keeffe, Deirdre Scanlon, Enda Haran, Odharna Ni Dhomhnallain, Emerald Kenny, The Howley Sisters, Therese McInerney and Aimee Foley. The Scoil Mhuire Choir will be joined by local male tenor and bass singers and all in all, this musical event will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a cosy, musical evening together with family and friends during the dark days before Christmas. It’s hard to stay outside the spirit of Christmas when the spirit is flowing through you with these celebratory songs of joy. Expect many festive favourites and let yourself believe again.
