A Busy Week to see out September
Local Enterprise Office Clare’s Schools Enterprise Programme has commenced again this year. Last year Scoil Mhuire students emerged winner of their category and last week First Year, Second Year and Transition Year students attended for preliminary training. The programme works with teachers and students in second level schools to develop an enterprise culture in the county. The aim of the Student Enterprise Awards is to facilitate and assist students in the establishment and running of their own business during the school year. The past week has been a very busy one at Scoil Mhuire. Leaving Certs attended a Careers Exhibition at UL and the whole school participated in a non-uniform day to raise funds for Pemba. Transition Year students also met with their 1st year new buddies during the week. The Buddy System has been running in the school with great success for a number of years and helps to ensure a smooth transition to Secondary School for the new entrants. Each of the TY’s act as a mentor for a 1st year student and are there to help, support and advise them in their journey through Post Primary education.
